Dubai to turn into a running track on November 27

The entire city of Dubai will be turning into a running track on November 27. Reportedly, the Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC) will be bringing Dubai Run, the biggest citywide fun run, for both visitors and residents. This initiative will be presented by Mai Dubai, in association with Fitbit and Cigna.

During this event, the city will turn into a personalised running track for all, irrespective of fitness level, age, and abilities, thereby giving everyone the exciting opportunity to join the flagship fitness movement launched by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai.

Everyone from teenagers, young adults, families, aged residents are invited to showcase and celebrate their new personal best with the Dubai Run – be it the first, fastest or farthest stretch. One can register themselves for the same at www.dubairun.com.

Participants can run, walk, or jog along your preferred route, location, distance, and starting time with their family and friends. You can choose your preferred route in any neighbourhood or community, i.e., from Jebel Ali to Jumeirah, and Downtown to Dubai Creek.

To help the routine runners and first-timers perform their best in this run, DFC is also launching six 28-day training programmes. These training programmes have been specially curated and designed by some of the region’s leading professional athletes and coaches, some of them include, Tania Lolla Kaddoura, Manal Rostom, Luke Mathews, Abdullah bin Hajjar, Lee Ryan and Luke Gaffney.

For more information regarding these training programmes, you can check the Dubai Run website, which will provide expert mentoring to prepare you for that run. The training programmes feature various step-by-step fitness guides for participants of all levels, no matter whether you want to kick-start your journey with a 2 km course, or you want to participate in the 10 km challenge.

Launched in 2017, the fourth edition of the citywide fitness movement is all set to empower everyone and strengthen the spirit of the whole community to commit to 30 minutes of activity for 30 days.

This year’s programme is calling on participants to discover What’s Your 30? This programme aims to motivate people embrace an active lifestyle that best suits their preferences—regardless of age, interest, ability, and fitness level. It also aims to offer participants the opportunity to embark on a holistic journey, with focus on instilling wellness-oriented habits, which can transform into sustained lifestyle shifts.
