Lengthened and renovated Silver Spirit back in service

Silversea’s Silver Spirit has emerged 49 feet longer from the Fincantieri yard in Sicily, following the completion of a lengthening and

The 9-year-old ship was cut in half, lengthened with the insertion
of a pre-built section and rewelded. The goal of the expansion and renovation was
to make the Spirit’s onboard experience similar to the Silver Muse’s. The Muse entered
service a year ago.

The Silver Spirit’s capacity has grown from 540 to 608
passengers, the pool deck has been enlarged, and a new eight-restaurant arrangement
has increased dining options. Atlantide (fine-dining seafood), Indochine (Pan-Asian),
Silver Note (small-plate tapas-style) and Spaccanapoli (pizza) are the new
restaurants, complementing Seishin (Japanese), La Dame (French), La Terrazza (Italian)
and The Grill (lava stone cooking). La Terrazza has been renovated.

Other new spaces: Arts Cafe, Tor’s Observation Library,
Zagara Spa, Panorama Lounge, and Dolce Vita lounge.

The upgraded Silver Spirit embarked upon its inaugural
voyage from Civitavecchia, Italy, on May 6. Bound for Barcelona, the inaugural
itinerary is the first in a series of European voyages. In September, the Silver
Spirit will cross to North America, sailing Canada/New England until November. The
ship will sail Caribbean cruises in the winter, mainly from Fort Lauderdale and
San Juan.
