Man tries to cook chicken in Yellowstone Park’s hot spring; gets banned for 2 years!

In a bizarre incident, a man was banned from entering the world-famous Yellowstone National Park after trying to cook chicken in one of the hot springs inside. According to local news reports, the Idaho man was a part of a group of 10 hikers visiting near the Shoshone Geyser Basin, a thermal region which is prohibited to hikers and visitors.

The incident

The rangers got the information from some locals and when they reached there, they couldn’t believe their eyes. They saw two whole chickens in a burlap sack submerged in one of the hot springs. Close to the spring was a cooking pot.

The man, along with two other hikers, from the group was not only guilty of travelling in a thermal area but also for violating rules. The man pleaded guilty and was fined $600 for each charge. In addition, he will also serve two years unsupervised probation and is banned from entering the park for the period.

He wanted to show the world how the natural heat could be used for cooking purposes.

Later, the government slapped them with a fine of $150 and also put them on a two-year probation period for disturbing mineral deposits in a national park.
