MP to host Khajuraho Dance Festival and Mandu Festival this month

Madhya Pradesh is all set to host the famous Mandu Festival on February 13-14, and the Khajuraho Dance Festival 2021 is also scheduled to be held from February 20 to 26 in the famous temple town of Khajuraho.

Reportedly, Madhya Pradesh state government and MP Tourism Board will be organising both the dance festivals; it has been witnessed that cultural activities are on the rise in the region. Moreover, as the Coronavirus crisis is gradually subsiding, authorities are gearing up to organise these festivals this month.

Referring to this, State Tourism, Culture and Spiritual Minister Usha Thakur said that during the pandemic situation, the state tourism department has made all the efforts to showcase the folk traditions, and has invited tourists to be part of these festivals.

Reports have it that the Khajuraho Dance Festival 2021 will be organised from February 20 to 26 by Ustad Allauddin Khan Sangeet & Kala Academy in Bhopal. As per the sources, the event will be focusing on Indian classical dance styles this year. During this event, eminent artists from around the country and the world will be gathering to enthral audiences with their dance performances.

Regarding the Mandu Festival, Shivshekhar Shukla, Principal Secretary, State Department of Culture and Tourism said that the festival will be held in the ancient city of Mandu, when many interesting aspects of the historic city would also be showcased. Reportedly, Kabir Cafe as well as other local artists and independent music bands would also be participating in the event.

These festivals are a part of continuous efforts to develop the state as a centre of Wellness and Mindful Tourism with meditation, yoga, naturopathy, among others. Further, short-term tour plans are also on the cards to attract tourists from neighbouring states on the concept of Aas Paas Tourism.
